Annual Leave & Public Holidays

Employees in Ireland are entitled to 4 weeks (20 days) of paid annual leave under the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997, plus 10 public holidays per year. ZenSkayl calculates entitlements automatically and includes the Irish public holiday calendar.

Sick Leave Act 2022 — Statutory Sick Pay

Ireland's Sick Leave Act 2022 introduced statutory sick pay for the first time. Employees are entitled to 5 days of paid sick leave per year from 2024, with this increasing to 10 days by 2026. ZenSkayl tracks sick leave entitlements under the Act separately from contractual sick pay arrangements.

Work Life Balance & Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2023

This landmark Act introduced the right to request remote working, the right to request flexible working arrangements, and 5 days of paid domestic violence leave per year. ZenSkayl manages all three leave types with the appropriate workflows and documentation.

Parent's Leave & Benefit

Each parent is entitled to 9 weeks of parent's leave during the first two years of a child's life (or adoption). ZenSkayl tracks parent's leave separately from maternity and paternity leave, with the correct entitlement periods applied automatically.

Gender Pay Gap Reporting

Under the Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021, Irish employers are required to publish gender pay gap data annually. ZenSkayl stores and surfaces the workforce data needed to produce compliant reports — headcount, hours worked, and leave taken — segmented by gender.

GDPR & Data Protection Commission (DPC) Compliance

Ireland is home to the European Data Protection Commission. Employee data in ZenSkayl is handled under the strictest GDPR principles — lawful basis for processing, data minimisation, and retention controls built into the platform.
