28 Days Statutory Annual Leave

Under the Working Time Regulations 1998, full-time employees are entitled to 5.6 weeks (28 days) of statutory leave including bank holidays. ZenSkayl calculates entitlements automatically, including pro-rata for part-time and part-year workers — reflecting the holiday pay reforms that came into force in January 2024.

Day-One Flexible Working Rights

Since April 2024, the Flexible Working (Amendment) Regulations 2023 entitle all employees to request flexible working from their first day of employment. ZenSkayl's workflow module manages the statutory two-request-per-year limit, response deadlines, and decision records.

Carer's Leave Act 2023

From April 2024, employees with a dependant who has a long-term care need are entitled to one week (5 days) of unpaid carer's leave per year from day one. ZenSkayl includes this leave type pre-configured, with the correct entitlement rules applied automatically.

Employment Rights Bill 2025

The Employment Rights Bill introduces major changes including stronger rights for workers on zero-hours and low-guaranteed-hours contracts, a requirement to offer reasonable hours, and enhanced protection from unfair dismissal from day one. ZenSkayl's contract and scheduling modules are designed to accommodate these changes as they take effect.

Workers (Predictable Terms and Conditions) Act 2023

Workers with unpredictable working patterns now have a statutory right to request more predictable terms. ZenSkayl tracks working patterns over time and surfaces the data needed to manage these requests within the statutory deadlines.

UK GDPR & Data Protection Act 2018

Employee data stored in ZenSkayl is held securely in compliance with UK GDPR requirements. Role-based access controls, data retention policies, and audit logs are built in — not bolted on.
